Lovely antique Victorian/Edwardian silk high neck blouse.
The yolk is adorned with pin tucking and decorative soutache appliqué. The neck has boning to keep it upright. The shoulders are gathered and the tapered sleeves have 5 covered decorative buttons each.
The blouse fastens at the back with hook closures and a back tie.
The condition is good given its age and delicate crepe de chine silk fabric. This piece is perfectly wearable but not perfect. It has been freshly washed and sun dried. Some minor seam strain throughout and 2 small holes in the front bodice (repairable). Slight discoloration at sleeve ends and some wear on silk covered buttons. There are 2 very faint stains on the bodice as well that go pretty unnoticed. Some very minor underarm yellowing. See photos for the worst of it.
It is delicate and will not sustain excessive strain.
