Here is a catholic first communion cape from the late Victorian or Edwardian eras. Made from cream woven wool embroidered with silk thread. It is lined in Cotton/silk voile. Two tiers make up the body of the cape which is adorned with a silk lined bonnet like piece. Ropes lead to lovely silk tassels for tying at the neck.
The condition is very good. A few minor stains are found on the lining as well as some very small holes in the exterior wool here and there. The 'bonnet" silk which is very delicate also has a tear. These few flaws are considered very minor given its age and It presents beautifully. See photos.
